Wednesday 27th October – walks ***** – Newbourne Springs circuit – sunny periods.

1 – walk, Monday 25th Octocber – sunny periods.

Our Grandson Arlo arrived with Rob and Hannah yesterday, sadly our son Rob was full of cold:( Arlo came to see us in bed before he went downstairs to bake a large amount of yummy gingerbread men. Mag and I then took him down to Felixstowe prom on a lovely sunny, mild day, ideal half term weather on his scooter. We had fun on the beach building sand castles before returning for lunch and to play with the large Brio train track. All 5 of us then went for anther walk to see the sea late afternoon!

2 – walk, Tuesday 26th October – sunny periods.

Played with magnets, built some Lego and our lovely hairdresser came so hair cuts all round even Arlo who was not keen to start with! Then Mag and I took Arlo for a long walk along the prom on his scooter returning via Langer Park play area stopping at Lidl for chocolate:)

3 – walk, Wednesday 27th October – sunny periods and breezy.

I had to take our van in for its MOT and service but headed down to Felixstowe Ferry to take a few pics to see if I could get one on the local TV weather, it’s been poor with no pics on telly so far this month:( With Rob feeling particularly under the weather he sadly stayed at home while, Mag, Hannah, Arlo and I drove the 8 miles over to the lovely Newbourne Springs for a walk in the woods! Hannah and Arlo donned their wellies as there is a fantastic crystal clear spring feed stream here idea; for [addling:) There was a bit of a breeze blowing in the tree top but we were sheltered and Arlo’s coat soon came off as it was sunny and mild:) We soon reached the railway sleepers that wind through the beautiful woods following the stream and come to the ideal area for a bit of stream paddling! It does not take long for Arlos wellies to be full of water even with a nice sandy area to wade in! Hannah and Arlo then go off exploring and find something exciting, I am already in the water in my sandals so help Mag over the stream and find what the other are excited about. It is a small circular pond with water bubbling out causing sand to be washed about, in all the years coming here we have never seen the source of one of the many springs here and it was fantastic to watch, we loved it! We played in the water for ages before continuing on the circular walk round seeing many varieties of mushrooms! We then had a visit from our other son Daniel and his partner Jay who stayed quite late with Arlo up with us too! Great day sad about Rob feeling poorly:(

4 – walk, Thursday 28th October – sunny periods continuing mild.

Great morning playing games with Arlo before we all head up the town apart from Hannah who stays at home to pack as they are leaving today to visit her sister in Leicester. Mag buys Rob some more medicine before carrying onto the prom which is busy with people enjoying half term. Arlo and I have a great time hiding around the beach huts, then down onto the beach and under the pier. Home for lunch before a sad goodbye as they set off on the car journey to Leicester. Our next visit we probably be New Year when they visit for another week!
